Grand Canyon Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving is a time for loved ones to come together, sometimes after an extended period of separation.

It was fitting, then, that the Thanksgiving weekend found me reunited with the Grand Canyon after many years. Christi and I hiked along the rim, and followed the well-trodden Bright Angel Trail partway down into the Big Ditch.

It was a mellow trip: no rim-to-rim records were broken, and on a couple mornings we even (gasp!) slept in!

But this is precisely what we needed in our long weekend away, and though I've been back in the office a week now, the sense of stillness and calm hasn't left me. Let's hope it lasts a bit longer, as we head into the frenetic holiday season. In the meantime, enjoy a few photos we took during the trip!
